SWARM 2023 (at Hamilton Artist Inc) In my third blog post, I discuss the challenges of participating in the annual membership show organized by Hamilton Artist Inc. in Hamilton, Ontario. This show allows the gallery to give back to the artists who have supported the cooperative over the past year. However, showing up before your peers can be challenging, particularly if you need to work smaller than you usually prefer. You can’t help but compare yourself with your fellow artists. It’s one of those damn if you do and damn if you don’t situations. If you are like everyone else, then you are just following the crowd, if you not like everyone else then whats wrong with your stuff. At the end of the day, all you can do is put your work out there and see if it survives or not.
