Hamilton’s Cork-town

For nearly two centuries, Hamilton’s Cork-town has been considered the heart and soul of the Irish community. Beginning in 1832, Irish immigrant workers began to settle on the land just below the Hamilton escapement. Following seasonal construction work on the various canal building projects, they entered the Hamilton region around 1825.
