Hamilton City Compromise Solution on Gore Park Buildings – two saved (?), two lost

Jan 16th, a compromise with the owner of the King Street East buildings would save the facade of the 1848 Kerr building and the building next to it while allowing the two others at 24 and 28 King Street East to be torn down.  According to a report in Raise the Hammer, the developer also promised to allow the buildings at 18 and 22 King Street East to be designated as heritage buildings. While the solution is better than losing everything, it is far from acceptable.  Without stronger support from the community, the people of Hamilton will continue to lose their history.
