The 1875 McClure House Painting Sketch Project – Part 2

Sorry for the rough quality of the video, but ran out of memory on my SDRC card.

Artist Chris Erskine continues with his painting sketch of the 1875 McClure House located west of Toronto. Mr. McClure was a stage coach-hotel business person. The location is half-way between Hamilton and Toronto. People would travel by stage coach from the 1830s to the turn of the 1880s. This is the fourth visit to this location.

Hamilton Artist update 29 – 1875 McClure House

On the Road and painting McClure House located half-way between Hamilton and Toronto.  The owner of this estate had a very rewarding stagecoach-hotel operation throughout the 19th century.  People travelling between Hamilton and Toronto would stop at a location near to his estate for a overnight stay at his hotel.

On the Road – 1875 McClure House

Please note that the date is wrong on the video.  This second visit occurred on August 4th, not August 8th as stated in the video.

Summer is my busy season with lots of projects on the go.  Often, I head out on the road and do special projects for different groups of supporters.  One such project is the 1875 McClure House, located West of Toronto.  This is my second visit to this site; I posted photos of my first visit via twitter.  This painting-sketch will need another two or three visits before being completed.  The painting will form the foundation for a colour print.  I hopefully have this completed by the early fall.
